“That's enough! I am leaving and going to my parent's house”
“B-but listen to me?”
As his wife bangs the door behind her, the husband starts worrying that what he is going to do now, who is going to take care of him and especially who is going to cook for him?
As we have stepped in 21st century, a dramatic change in mentality and lifestyle of people has been seen. With the passage of time things are not the same anymore. The thought that men are responsible to earn for their family and cooking is wholly women's job is deliberately vanishing. Women are acquiring higher education and stepped in the fields like politics, business and industry. My point is that, if women can work side by side to men then why not men can accomplish women’s chores? I strongly believe that it is the time for boys to step in the kitchen and learn how to cook. The boy who knows cooking is far better than the ones who do not. Nowadays mostly men are marrying late and living away from their homes due to their jobs and studies and if they don't know how to cook, life becomes complicated for them. A person can't eat out all the time as it may be very costly and it's not healthy too, but if he knows cooking, meals would no longer be a problem for him. Nowadays career oriented women are working after marriage too, if their husbands occasionally cook for them it would mean a lot to them, in turn the bonding between them would become stronger and there would be less chances of fights due to restlessness and fatigue.

According to me, a boy cooking for her mother on mother's day or a husband cooking for his wife on a special occasion is an act that would be appreciated more than buying gifts. Consider an example that if husband reaches home early, cooks impressive meal, gives his wife a surprise when she returns from her office, the wife in my opinion would be grateful for having such a caring life partner and would feel like she has fallen in love with him all over again.
Most importantly, ability to cook can help in hard times like; if female member of the house gets ill, father can cook and his children can have nutritious and hygienic food at home. It is a plus point that instead of relying on his wife to cook every meal, he can whip up something tasty and simple at home easily.
It is a modern era where marriage is not acknowledged a necessity and if boys learn how to cook, it would help them to prepare their meals economically and hygienically at home.
Another important point needs to be discussed here is that our younger generation is getting obese and sick due to the fast food of the restaurants laden with unhealthy oil, fat and cholesterol. This trend needs to be ceased as health issues are of prime importance.
Women think that men can't be as adept in cooking as they are but they are proven wrong as the world's top chefs are men. These chefs are making handsome money by working in renowned restaurants. I have recently come to know that fans of Chef Zakir have outnumbered those of Hritik Roshan! Every now and then if you switch on the T.V you come across the cooking shows of these chefs on different channels.
No doubt cooking is woman's duty but there isn’t a bit of shame for men if they learn how to cook. So cooking is a self satisfying survival skill that should be learned by all the boys.
“Gold may be the best gift for the wife but if he cannot afford it, he should know that a tasty meal cooked by him is a new shortcut to his wife's heart!”
