Piles is the disease of rectum in which the last end of the big intestine swells up and patient feels pain, irritation and burning. When the excess blood accumulates in the veins it bursts and bleeding starts, this is called bloody piles. Another type of piles is the blind piles in which veins protrude from the rectum but there is no bleeding.
Reasons: Main reason of this disease is the sedentary style of living. Lazy and ease loving persons who use to sit for hours after eating the food and do not take exercise. Ultimately the constipation develops and gets chronic and patient has to exert force to pass the stools and ultimately the veins protrude causing pain and burning.
There are some liver diseases, lavish use of meaty foods, potatoes, and other foods causing the wind and constipation are some of the causes.
The veins of the rectum swell up due to accumulation of blood, there is pain and burning in the veins and rectum as a whole. Sometimes there is bleeding. There is difference between the blood of piles and blood of dysentery. In piles there is excess quantity blood and without any particles whereas in dysentery the blood is mixed with the feces.
Treatment: Usually this is caused by the constipation so one should not let it happen to himself. A healthy diet containing vegetables, fruits and other cereals containing mostly the fibre should be consumed. The use of figs, apples (with the cover), warm milk, spinach, pulses especially the gram pulse is very useful in the treatment of piles. The use of Guava along with its seeds is also useful for smooth working of intestines and for removing the constipation.
The vegetables having the green leaves are very useful, especially the use of reddish is also very good for the prevention and treatment of the piles.
