Stammering is also known as stuttering, this is a speech disorder in which speech flow becomes distorted and sounds become prolonged with involuntary repetition of words.

Genetic and environmental factors are involved in Stammering but in certain case congenital factors are also involved such as trauma, Cerebral Palsy and Mental Retardation. Stammering can be treated with the help of different Speech Therapies and Fluency enhancing devices. Prognosis of stammering is good if detected at early age.
