Menstruating Woman and Writing Quranic Verses

Question 23: Is a menstruating woman allowed to recite the Holy Quran in situations like if she quotes any verse from the Quran or presents any idea in the light of Holy Quran? Furthermore, is a menstruating woman permitted to write Hadith or verses from Quran?

Answer: A menstruating woman is allowed to read or recite any verse from the Holy Quran or books related to the Tafseer of Quranic verses. In the same way, there is no harm in writing Quranic verses while drafting any document or essay. There is no issue at all to present or recite any Holy verse as an argument, idea or for quotation.

The menstruating woman can also recite Holy Verses as prayers, or Wazifa because it is different from directly reading Quran. The menstruating woman is also allowed to pick a book without any hesitation to read Tafseer.
