Applying Henna during Menstruation
Question: what is the Islamic point of view regarding applying henna during menstruation? Will it be considered as impurity unless the color of henna remains on hands?
Answer: it is permittedfor women to apply henna on hands during menses period because her body is clean. This is why; it is admissible to shaking hand with a woman who is having menstrual cycle. It is proved that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) has drunk water after Hazrat Ayesha (R.A.) when she was suffering from periods.Prophet Muhammad (SAW) kept His mouth on the place where Hazrat Ayesha (R.A.) has kept. When Prophet Muhammad (SAW) has demanded from Hazrat Ayesha (R.A.) to bring a cloth, She has told Him about Her menstrual cycle. He has narrated:
“Your menstruation is not in your control.“
Henna is sacred. It is been applied on pious parts. There is nothing in it which expresses the disapproval of applying Henna in menstrual cycle.
